Fun Fact:

Howlite was first discovered in Nova Scotia, Canada, in 1868 by geologist Henry How, for whom the mineral was named. Its naturally white coloring and distinctive gray veining make it easy to recognize. Interestingly, Howlite is porous and readily absorbs dyes, which is why it is sometimes colored blue and sold as an imitation of Turquoise. Natural white Howlite, however, is beautiful in its own right and treasured for its peaceful appearance and calming symbolism.
