Fun Fact:
Mahogany Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed when silica-rich lava cools rapidly, preventing crystals from developing. Its distinctive reddish-brown coloring comes from iron-rich inclusions, particularly iron oxides such as Hematite, within the dark volcanic glass. These natural formations create the beautiful mahogany-colored patterns that give this unique variety of Obsidian its name.
